Why Become An Indie Author

October 4, 2016

“We love your writing but…well you just don’t fit anywhere.” That was what I was told by editors and big publishing companies that I don’t fit in. I was a square peg in a system that only allowed round pegs. This is why I chose to be an indie author. You no longer need a big publishing company behind to write, produce, print and market a book. Now with Kindle and KDP at Amazon you don’t even need to print a book, many best titles are just e-books. How the times have changed.

I have been doing this, writing, for a long time. In fact when I started the traditional method-having to have a publisher- was the only way to get a book published. Today nothing can hold you back, have a dream of being an author now is the time to live out that dream. Unlike years ago, it doesn’t cost a fortune to get it done. It doesn’t matter what your book is about, it can be a gripping murder mystery, a book of poems, or a non-fiction guide to study of moonlight on plants, whatever your desire, that is what being an indie author is all about. You now fit in. #PoweredByIndie.
